Shepherd Gilmour was established in Manchester, England in 1959 providing consultancy services to the UK in structures, infrastructure, CDM, and geotechnical engineering.  Astbury Shepherd Gilmour is the Middle East expansion of the business and has been operational in the UAE for over 10 years with offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In that time ASG has grown organically into a technically strong team of 50+ engineers, BIM, and site staff. 

Throughout our tenure in the UAE we have worked with some of the regions major developers and regularly work hand in hand with internationally recognised architectural practices on award-winning projects. We have built up a reputation for being proactive, with an innovative and flexible outlook to the design process, and for producing on time.

As testimony to the quality of service we aim to provide for each and every commission; we take pride in the fact that over 95% of our workload is either repeat business from satisfied clients or follows recommendations from fellow professionals.

Our core business is structural engineering for which we have a vast amount of experience in all sectors and disciplines. We have designed and managed some of the UAE’s most prestigious construction projects delivering an extremely high quality service on program and within budget. Our projects have the clients best interest in mind which results in extremely efficient design, a product of our UK heritage for accurate and elegant delivery of structural engineering design.

All our projects are overseen by a Director level engineer in keeping with our QA & QC execution, this also ensures the client can interact with those responsible for the entire duration of a project. 

We introduced AoR services in 2015 and have undertaken a large number of projects in Dubai in that time. We have excellent relations and liscenses with Dubai Municipality, Trakhees and Dubai Creative Clusters Authority and continue to build on this month by month with every successful project delivered. Our scope of services include the verification and submission of all related consultants designs until issuance of building completion certificates. 

As part of our AoR services we also have a team of experienced resident engineers and design office practiced qualified structural engineers to take site roles for the duration of a project.
