To accommodate an increase in passengers and to meet expansion requirements, Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is undergoing a 27-gate construction project that includes a new satellite terminal north of existing Concourse A, where the rental car facilities had previously been located.
Charlotte Douglas International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the nation, averaging 40 million travelers annually.
NV5 is providing MEP/FP design services for Phase I, which involves a $140 million expansion project consisting of a new 210,000 SF concourse housing nine new gates and jet bridges for jets to load and unload passengers. The concourse will also feature a connector to the existing Concourse A, as well as office space. Our scope of services also includes connectivity to the existing central energy plant, with planning for future infrastructure when the second and third phases are constructed.
Electrical design includes two 4000A services with a 4000A bus tie; LED lighting; lighting controls and a central dimming system; 2000kw emergency generator with portable generator/load bank connection cabinet; 3000A emergency switchboard and two 300kw systems for UPS; CATV; security; access control; fire alarm; and sound and paging systems.
