Gas Main Manifold Replacement, NJ Transit

NV5 designed the relocation plan that involved the re-routing of two 24-inch diameter cast iron gas mains to avoid conflict with a proposed New Jersey Transit rail line and station.

NV5’s design included manifolding the two 24-inch mains to one 36-inch diameter steel main. Work included coordination with the NJ Transit construction manager. Our utility engineers prepared an EP-2 permit in accordance with “NJ Transit Rail Operations, Specifications for Pipeline Occupancy on NJ Transit Property.”

Work also included construction oversight of trenching, sheeting and shoring, bedding, and backfilling operations.
