The new terminal at Myrtle Beach International Airport consists of a primarily single-level terminal connected to the existing terminal so that existing gates can be used. It includes airport support and office space in the existing terminal and reuse of the existing parking area. The project includes new terminal area construction on the upper level, a new construction portion of the aerial connector to the existing hold room, and the lower level.
The new gates accommodate both ground-level and boarding-bridge passenger loading. The project also includes passenger and baggage screening improvements, queuing and circulation expansion, additional passenger check-in and concession space, as well as a separate rental car facility and toll plaza directly across from the new terminal.
Systems commissioned by NV5 include building automation systems, mechanical/HVAC systems, electrical systems, lighting control systems, lighting protection, emergency power/ATS-transfer, uninterruptible power supply systems, fire/life safety systems, normal power systems, domestic/process water systems, network and telecommunications systems, elevators, ventilation and exhaust systems, and chilled water systems.
