Rice University Integrated Climate & Energy Master Plan

Controlling a Carbon Footprint

NV5 is working with Rice University to develop an integrated climate and energy master plan to guide future energy investments and decisions that will impact the university’s carbon footprint. It’s exciting to improve building energy performance for the entire campus.

The approach involves evaluating the current baseline performance of utility infrastructure and campus buildings, as well as the systems for measuring and controlling campus energy consumption. This assessment provided the basis for developing a plan to improve the operation of existing assets while the University continues to expand the campus and fulfill their academic mission.
