UMass Amherst Central Heating Plant Commissioning

According to the UMass website, the central heating plant was recognized (2011) as “the cleanest plant of its size in New England and has been recognized for maintaining 80% efficiency over six consecutive quarters.”

“When we’re generating power here we’re going to save over a million dollars a month and that’s going to grow as energy costs go up.  We’re getting as much value out of a pound of fuel, nearly as much, as is theoretically possible.”
