Herman Cx, an NV5 Company, delivers mission-critical integration services with over 90 years of combined experience across ten countries. Our expert team includes licensed engineers, Navy veterans, and certified commissioning authorities and agents, all cross-trained in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls systems. We are committed to not just identifying issues but creating innovative, holistic solutions that ensure highly efficient, optimally functioning facilities. As a veteran-owned company, all Herman Cx team members are OSHA 10 and NFPA 70E certified.

Herman Cx specializes in supporting mission-critical environments, including waste treatment facilities, central utility plants, power plants, desalination facilities, water treatment plants, data centers (3 MW to 175 MW), and tech manufacturing sites. Using a proven Five Phase commissioning approach, we ensure operational readiness and lasting performance for every project.

Established in 2016, Herman Cx provides QA/QC support and commissioning services for mission-critical facilities, leveraging a diverse team with strong technical and engineering expertise to solve the most complex operational challenges.

Founder and CEO Wes Herman brings over 25 years of experience in critical facilities infrastructure, shaped by his military service and work with equipment technology manufacturers. A certified Building Commissioning Professional, Wes is passionate about mentoring his team and delivering smart, effective solutions for clients.

Maria de Jesus Herman, CFO

Maria Herman oversees financial operations with a strong background in financial institution management and a Business degree from the University of Manila. Her focus on precision and customer service supports both the internal team and client relationships.

David De Boer, PE, CCP – Senior CxA Manager

A licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer and Navy veteran, David De Boer combines over 15 years of industry experience with deep diagnostic expertise. His design background enhances his ability to troubleshoot system performance and deliver zero-downtime solutions.

James Robinson – Commissioning Agent

With more than 25 years of professional experience, James Robinson brings a strong foundation in construction management, project scheduling, and client communication, ensuring operational goals are met and exceeded.

Jesse Brandt – Commissioning Agent

Jesse Brandt offers over a decade of hands-on experience diagnosing and optimizing mechanical systems. His patience, technical knowledge, and passion for mechanical performance drive his ability to fine-tune operational equipment for maximum efficiency.

Herman Cx follows a proven Five Phase commissioning process to ensure optimal facility performance:

  • Design Phase: Develop detailed commissioning specifications and review designs to align with operational requirements.
  • Construction Phase: Oversee and document equipment installation to verify systems meet project objectives and contract standards.
  • Acceptance-Testing Phase: Conduct on-site testing and performance verification of critical systems like chillers, boilers, and pumps under normal and failure conditions.
  • Integrated System Testing: Validate how all building systems interact and perform together under both normal and abnormal scenarios, ensuring long-term reliability.
  • Warranty Phase: Perform functional retesting during the warranty period, address outstanding issues, and provide a retro-commissioning plan for future system optimization.
