The attendee will gain a new perspective on methods to determine the duration of a water loss involving cabinetry when accompanied by photographs that document changes in swelling height, coloration, and elements of metal corrosion.
About Jeffrey Wilemon, CIECMr. Jeff Wilemon joined NV5 (formerly GHD) after 11 years of teaching high school sciences including AP Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Genetics. Previous experience also includes more than 10 years in building maintenance and construction as a Maintenance Superintendent and Maintenance Electrician in single- and multi-family residential, commercial properties and hospitals. Current work responsibilities include assessment of water and microbial damage, evaluation of indoor air quality, microscopy and micrography, and the preparation of cause and origin reports and litigation support for clients. Jeff has conducted research regarding the effects of moisture damage and microbial growth on various construction materials, published an articles on differentiating hot and cold water damage, fungal growth under high RH conditions, and fungal wood decay, all with the intent of improving accuracy in determining cause, origin and duration of loss.
