Matt Moeller Appointed to IIT Health Physics Academic Advisory Board

August 28, 2013

NV5/Dade Moeller* certified health physicist Matt Moeller has accepted an appointment to the Academic Advisory Board of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Professional Science Master’s Program for Health Physics [radiation safety]. Moeller will represent the private industry’s perspective on the board, which is tasked with ensuring the overall quality of the graduate program.

“Dade Moeller, under the leadership Matt, has been exemplary in its commitment to education and training in the field of health physics,” said Shih-Yew (S.Y.) Chen, director of IIT’s Professional Science Master’s Program for Health Physics. “The IIT Health Physics Program will benefit tremendously from Matt’s appointment to our academic advisory board. We look forward to his association with the program.”

One of Chen’s first actions after his appointment to director in December 2012 was to reach out to industry leaders, like Moeller, to expand their participation on the board. As a member of the advisory board, Moeller will provide input and assistance to Chen at annual board meetings, as well as throughout the year as needs arise.

“It will be an honor to join the Illinois Institute of Technology and others on the Advisory Board in their efforts to provide a high-quality educational program to the next generation of health physicists,” said Moeller. “Our company has always championed education as a vital component in the continued success of our field.”

Both Chen and Moeller are active members and Fellows of the national Health Physics Society, a nonprofit scientific professional organization that promotes the practice of radiation safety.
