NV5 was selected by Amador County to provide construction management services for the Bunker Hill Bridge Replacement Project. NV5 is working to replace the existing two-lane Bunker Hill Road Bridge (Bridge No. 26C-0043) in Amador County with a new two-lane bridge. The project is situated in a rural portion of the County, approximately 2.7 miles northwest of Amador City. Constructed in 1925, the existing bridge is 20 feet wide and 40 feet long and has been classified by Caltrans as Structurally Deficient.
The project consists of a single span, pre-cast, pre-stressed, voided slab bridge that will be approximately 60 feet long and 26 feet wide. Since this project is being funded by the Highway Bridge Program, the County is serving as the lead agency under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Caltrans is the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) lead agency for the proposed project under the NEPA delegation agreement with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Project highlights include public outreach, coordination with California Department of Fish and Wildlife, bridge demolition, falsework, road closure, SWPPP, and difficult excavation.
