The City of Henderson Justice Facility is a multi-story facility housing City of Henderson courts as well as the City of Henderson jail. Henderson is the second largest city in Nevada and one of the fastest growing cities in the United States.
The jail consists of six cell blocks with a total of approximately 140 cells. The cells blocks include maximum security and isolation cells in addition to the standard cells. The jail includes full support facilities including visitor’s area, and exterior yard areas. The facility includes two court rooms along with full court room support including jury room, holding cells, security screening, offices, and staff support areas.
In addition to providing MEP services, NV5 provided third-party owner’s representation for the city’s first Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC). We also provided energy efficiency consulting during the facility expansion to reduce the facility’s utility costs and secure maximum incentives available through Nevada Power and the Southern Nevada Water District. Additionally, based on Henderson’s desire to make all new buildings models of functionality and efficiency, we reviewed and modified the city’s standard Design Manual to reflect current sustainability, energy efficiency practices, designs, and techniques.
