Renovations were long overdue for 60-year-old Galvin Middle School located in the Town of Wakefield, Massachusetts, and a full scope of services provided by the local NV5 office was instrumental in making it happen. Services for this improvement included budget and schedule management, project procurement, analysis of options for construction delivery methods, construction administration, site representation, and commissioning procurement.
The first phase of this 187,733 square foot building transformation was the construction of the academic and administration wing adjacent to the original school. The second phase began later that summer, with abatement and demolition of the existing school followed by construction of the gymnasium, locker rooms, auditorium, and music classrooms.
The new grounds consist of two artificial turf fields, two basketball courts, a PE field, skate park, school garden, an alfresco classroom, and a greeting plaza.
