NV5 provided health and safety plans (HASPs) to support the client’s electrical work along the I-5 corridor in Seattle, Washington.
The plan was tailored to address workers’ potential exposure to homeless camps adjacent to or in close proximity of worksites along the interstate. The health and safety plan provided guidance to the company regarding posting and notification responsibilities, protocol when needles were found, public safety during trenching activities, and protocols when waste was discovered. Additional personal safety measures were covered regarding the risk of theft and mugging while working near the interstate.
The health and safety plans were reviewed and approved by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
