NV5 provided design and engineering services during building of this $26.9M interchange and roadway improvement project which provides critical access to the City of Caldwell, College of Idaho, Caldwell Airport and connects I-84 and US-20/26. The new interchange improves traffic flow, doubles capacity of the overpass, eases congestion on interchange ramps and Franklin Road and adds pedestrian/bicycle amenities. Perhaps most importantly, it provides enhanced access to the growing Caldwell area through a beautifully landscaped and aesthetically pleasing “gateway” to the City.
ITD’s aggressive schedule called for the project to be designed within four years and built within 1½ years. A typical interchange project takes several more years to design. WHPacific completed fast-track design and building services within ITD’s schedule requirements.
Innovative concepts, design and building techniques provided an economical solution that expanded capacity and improved public safety and aesthetics – meeting present and future goals of ITD and the City of Caldwell.
