The Springs Preserve Visitor’s Center consists of two separate buildings — an Administration Building and an Exhibit Building. The Administration Building houses offices for Springs Preserve personnel, a gift shop, and a food service vendor. The Exhibit Building houses various types of desert-specific exhibits related to the growth of the Las Vegas Valley, especially as it relates to the use of water and the effect growth has had on animal life and water consumption.
The Visitor’s building has a dramatic rotunda at the entry which serves as the foyer to a large theater. The rotunda also serves as the entryway to the various exhibit areas.
NV5 provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing services on this project which included detailed coordination with the provider/installer of the specific exhibits. This project was awarded LEED Platinum by the U.S. Green Building Council.
