Lummi Nation K-12 School

Before this new K-12 school opened its doors, the Lummi Nation bused their 750 students to a neighboring school in Western Washington. In a collaborative effort between the Albuquerque and Seattle offices, NV5 worked closely with the tribal council and the Lummi Nation leaders to include key cultural traditions in the design of a new 130,000 SF school. The $21M design/build project also includes a new playground area, football field, baseball field, bus maintenance facility and on-site housing for cultural activities.

In addition to providing all site civil and architectural design services, the NV5 team participated in value engineering sessions with the general contractor, which not only brought the project design in on budget, but also reduced building costs by approximately $3M.
