NV5 - Oregon DOT Industrial Hygiene

Oregon DOT Industrial Hygiene

Under a master agreement with the Oregon Department of Transportation, NV5’s industrial hygiene services were available to benefit the employees of Oregon’s Region 5, which includes the counties of Morrow, Umatilla, Wallowa, Union, Grant, Baker, Harney, and Malheur.

To prevent worker exposure to health and physical hazards during activities such as road development and maintenance, vegetation control, and large fleet maintenance and repair, the Oregon Department of Transportation relied on NV5 to provide industrial hygiene services including testing, sampling, and monitoring for hazardous conditions such as indoor air quality; mold/fungi/bacteria; water quality; silica or other hazardous dust related to building; asbestos; high noise exposure; and welding fumes, including hexavalent chromium.

We also were on-call to develop remediation or hazard control plans; review and comment on site safety and health plans; review proposed new chemical products for processes; consult and assist the department on a variety of building health and safety issues, such as lead, PCBs, and pest control; consult on office and industrial ergonomic safety improvements, best practices, and innovative equipment; and provide advanced technical training on occupational health and industrial hygiene to employees.
