UMass Lowell University Crossing

The University Crossing Project at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is the symbolic “Campus Center” tying together the three campuses – North Campus, East Campus, and South Campus.

This project achieved LEED Silver status.

The facility, which functions as a student center, is situated on the site of the former St. Joseph’s Hospital Complex. University Crossing is composed of two parts; the renovation of two hospital buildings that are connected to the newly constructed building that replaces the demolished hospital buildings. University Crossing houses the offices of approximately 28 university departments that service students and is thus located to more efficiently and conveniently serve students from all three campuses.

The facility also houses food service venues and the campus bookstore/library. The new Student Center is approximately 142,653 GSF with a 3-bay loading dock. The renovated buildings contain 87,500 GSF of renovated space.
