NV5 was responsible for air permit application preparation for this project, which involved replacing diesel generators on Catalina Island with new lower emission units. The replacement was prompted by the newly revised South Coast Air Quality Management District Rule 1135. As part of the application process, NV5 prepared the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) application form including estimates of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions specifically identified in the form, as well as assisted with the evaluation of the planned project versus the CEQA analysis prepared during promulgation of Rule 1135. The evaluation included the emissions from construction and operational phases, as well as noise impacts.
