This 20-acre property in southeast Raleigh was the site of a low-income housing project developed in the 1940’s prior to its purchase by a local non-profit for redevelopment that will include single-family and multi-family homes and a senior living center. Our services began with a Phase I environmental site assessment, as well as an evaluation of the presence of asbestos-containing building materials and lead-based paint. Soil test borings and a geotechnical evaluation were performed to provide site development recommendations for the new buildings, new parking lots, new city streets, and stormwater control devices. Since the onset of construction in 2017, NV5 has been involved, primarily on a full-time basis, to observe site grading operations, including testing of structural fill soils, and to perform foundation examinations and concrete testing for building construction. Testing of pavement systems in the new parking lots and roadways is also underway. We’re proud to provide our geotechnical and construction testing services on projects like Washington Terrace that provide affordable housing for Raleigh residents.
