NV5 - Fayetteville Street Renaissance

Fayetteville Street Renaissance

To revitalize its downtown, The City of Raleigh decided to reopen this main artery from the State Capitol to Memorial Auditorium. As prime engineering consultant, NV5 recreated a pedestrian-friendly public space that incorporates vehicle travel.

Key project objectives were to help invigorate downtown Raleigh, create additional economic vitality in the downtown core, and to recreate the city’s main street using a flexible design. The thoroughfare design created an event space accessible by block, a safe pedestrian environment, and a venue to display public art.
