Located within ten miles of Fort Bragg and Pope Army Air Base in North Carolina, the Fayetteville VA Medical Center (VAMC) has been providing healthcare services for U.S. veterans since 1940. To address the growing demand for quality healthcare to those who have served our country, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) decided to construct a new facility nearby, the Fayetteville VA Health Care Center, that would expand existing services.
This design-build project constructed the new, three-story, 325,000-SF VA with parking for 1,850 vehicles on 40 acres. NV5 provided MEP/FP/Telecom systems design and energy modeling services, site/civil design, building structural design, and surveying services.
The Center achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
The new center serves 38,000 veterans a year, providing specialty care, day surgery, audiology, pharmacy, and radiology services, as well as an eye clinic. The site also includes a healing garden and Veterans Memorial.
