Glenshire Drive consists of over six miles of “backbone” or primary road within the Town of Truckee, California. The road extends east from downtown to the eastern town limits and follows the alignment of portions of Old Highway 40, formerly the main east-west route across the country.
NV5 provided geotechnical engineering and rockery wall design, and evaluated the existing pavement sections by obtaining pavement cores and providing recommendations for roadway widening and pavement reconstruction. The existing pavement was severely rutted with transverse tension cracks and longitudinal distress cracks. Portions of the pavement were nearly 100 years old and were comprised of various pavement types and numerous overlays.
NV5 then provided earthwork observation and materials testing services during project construction.
