NV5 - Reconstruction of Greenwich Street

Greenwich Street Redesign

For the New York City Economic Development Corporation, NV5 redesigned Greenwich Street from Chambers Street to Hubert Street to reflect demographic and land-use changes in the neighborhood from warehouse and manufacturing to loft-style residential.

The roadbed was narrowed from 70 to 38 feet, creating a wide pedestrian promenade on the west side of the street complete with trees, benches, and decorative paving elements. The street also accommodates a new Greenmarket.

Sustainable features include the salvage/reuse of existing roadway paving materials, travel lane reduction, and widened sidewalks.
