NV5 provided MEP/FP engineering survey, design, and administration services for the 13,000 SF renovation to the first floor of Marieb Hall at Holyoke Community College.
The project included a new microbiology teaching lab, cleanroom, new bio-tech lab, prep lab, new classroom and lecture space, upgrade to first-floor common areas, new meeting spaces for students, and updated offices for instructors.
Services included HVAC system connecting to the existing building system, including new VAV boxes and controls; air handling system, including HEPA filtration for the cleanroom and associated cleanroom spaces; new hot and cold water potable and non-potable services within the lab spaces; new sanitary lab piping including acid neutralization pH system; lab gases for the renovation area connecting to existing lab gas systems; new toilet room fixtures; installation of sprinkler piping and heads for connection to future building sprinkler system; new 208/120 volt distribution panel and electrical devices to serve the renovated area; new LED lighting and controls; and new fire alarm devices throughout the renovated area tying into the existing fire alarm panel.
