NV5 - Helping Companies Respond to Fukushima Accident

Helping Companies Respond to Fukushima Accident

After the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident in Japan, several multinational businesses concerned about potential radioactive contamination of their employees and assets (finished products, manufacturing equipment, and buildings) contacted NV5 for assistance.

Our certified health physicists performed different tasks, depending on the needs and concerns of each client and their particular situations. For example, we evaluated potential risks from possible radiation exposure, recommended the proper radiation detection equipment to monitor components for radioactive contamination, and prepared protective procedures that covered the monitoring of packages and components for radioactivity. We also created video-based training courses for employees on the protective procedures.
