NV5 provided civil design development plans and prepared documents for the Sorrento South Corporate Center, a 15-acre site on the southwest corner of Mira Mesa Boulevard and Scranton Road in San Diego that complements the Sorrento North complex. Working with the architect, NV5’s design development phase focused on detailed grading and utilities design and resolving schematic issues. Schematic plans were used to finalize the site plan and complete the design of the site.
Documents that NV5 ultimately provided for the site included grading permits, on-site utility design, traffic signals, horizontal control, and lot line adjustments. Detailed traffic control for Mira Mesa Boulevard and Scranton Road was also provided to allow for nighttime building of utility connections to the site.
Detailed grading in the vicinity of the San Diego Gas & Electric easements influenced the site layout. Siting of buildings to clear the controlled air space of nearby Marine Corps Air Station Miramar required detailed focus on horizontal control.
