University of Minnesota Center for Magnetic Resonance Research

Cutting-Edge Environments

The expansion space provides room for additional research magnets, including space for a 10.5-T magnet, to keep the University of Minnesota on the cutting-edge of advancements in the field of magnetic resonance imaging technology. The new 10.5-T magnet was delivered to the university in December of 2013. It is the world’s largest medical imaging magnet.

The project is part of the University’s ongoing expansion of the Academic Health Center. The existing building is a 39,100-squarefoot, one-story facility.
