Recently, Quantum Spatial participated in the annual Anchorage Waterways Council’s Creek Cleanup. With the winter snow melted, 18 volunteers put their waders on and combed Chester Creek, collecting countless bags of trash. The group effort was truly inspiring. One zealous volunteer trusted a wet log a bit too much, and ended up waist-deep in the creek! Luckily he had a change of clothes and was no worse for wear. Another volunteer braved a curious goose during the cleanup. After the cleanup, we received a heartfelt thank you message from a local resident:
Hello Quantum Spatial, I recently read in the ADN about your volunteer cleanup work along the Chester Creek trail in Anchorage. I live in Roger’s Park near the trail and walk it often. This lovely, mostly wild, urban park is a tremendous addition to the quality of life here… Mostly, I am saying how grateful I am for your very valuable contribution to the Chester Creek Park and all of us that use it. Please tell Bob Hickey and the team thank you! I want to let you know how appreciated your efforts are! Even if I am the only one to write to you, I know there are hundreds that are grateful. Thank you so much!
The event culminated with a hearty barbeque, which included pie warmed on the grill.
